Shirley’s Bed and Breakfast is based on our West Virginia heritage. Shirley Nutter, 1904-1994, spent 50 years as the owner/operator of Shirley’s Motel in Hico, West Virginia. Located on Route 60, Shirley’s was a popular resting place through the years. The original motel burnt to the ground in the early 1970s and Shirley rebuilt it and continued to manage the motel until it closed in the early 1990s.
Today, guests enjoy the original Shirley’s sign, proudly featured as sculpture on the estate.
